Amtrak ran two trains this month with special cars. Shot both in Dearborn Michigan and as a bonus I shot the west bound 355 in Wayne Michigan. As always thanks for watching !

Amtrak Wolverine Service between Pontiac and Chicago has upgraded its equipment on all 6 trains. On the trains that I shot all but the Cafe cars have been replaced. Also as an improvement project the State of Michigan will be fencing in the line to keep trespassers off the property. The people that live along the line are placing protest signs, placed along the road side.

With the shipping season coming to a close I got the Barker making her last delivery before winter lay-up. She was heading to Dearborn with a load of Iron Ore but had to waite for traffic to clear on the Rouge river to proceed.

Over a three day Period I chased the 1225 Polar Express Trips from Owosso Mi.,to Ashley, Michigan The Pere Marquette 1225 was the model used to make the movie Polar Express.

Last February i did a one day photo charter chasing the C&O 1309 up the mountain on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. These are the hi lights from that trip hosted by Larro Photography.

I should have put an explanation about the fence sign at the start, It seams that the State of Michigan is going to fence in the line that Amtrak uses to keep trespassers off the right of way. The public that live near the line are a bit upset. All part of the hi speed rail plan
It would be awesome if it could get passenger train service one more time. Like a high-speed train from Detroit to Chicago, or even Detroit to Cleveland. One person can dream. But I never thought I would see this beauty renovated, yet here we are.

You know, watching this, I started shedding some tears. Not because I’m sad but because I’m happy for the City of Detroit and the station to see it all lit up and being fresh from what it was. I know the car industry did a lot of damage when it started leaving Detroit but Ford buying the station is a start to help it come back. There is hope. I’m so happy to see it live again.

Currently no Amtrak service to my city... there are plans to expand Amtrak here that would include my city. Good stuff!!

Yes they stop for about two months in the winter. Mostly because the soo locks close because of ice and maintenance. As always thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

Remember seeing a video of this train station when it was abandoned and derelict a few years ago and it pained me recalling the many times I had been there in the 1960s when I was a boy with my mother taking train trips to visit her side of the family in Maryland and Ohio. Glad to see this Detroit icon getting a second chance, it really was a work of art.

Thank you Leonard. I still enjoy the change in seasons around this aria. It really only stays that cold for a short time and our snow pack has seemed to be less and less every year. 4:38 - I explored MCS many times before 2014 and it feels like a miracle to see her look this clean. I have a video on my channel from 2008 for anyone curious to see the contrast. Hats off to Ford for saving her!

I caught the Amtrak train back to Chicago there in the early 70's . Sure looks good now even if it has lost it's railroad connection. Are the upper floors occupied or just lit at night?

Just came across this video. Excellent work. It is so good to see this building saved. I have no connection with Michigan but it is a great glimpse of past glories and what the future holds for the building and Detroit.

It was a short clip that i put together for a railroad club that i belong to and at that event i had the opportunity to narrate. I may redo in the future with other footage of the progress /restoration and will include more information.
